ARC Co-director Iliyana Nedkova is to deliver a talk at Dundee Contemporary Arts as part of the public lecture programme of the School of Television and Imaging, Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design, University of Dundee.
‘’In 1995 I travelled to the ‘UK’s largest international festival of new media art’ and realised that a schism was starting in the art world – a section called new media art had branched out. Divergence was in. A decade later convergence is in the air and we can visit festivals of ‘the art formerly known as new media’.. I would argue that within the last ten years we have moved from curating media-specific art to one which privileges meanings to means.’’
